Tighter and larger proximal contacts
As a result of the selectively thinned parts of the matrix in the contact area as well as the opening for the intact contact on the non-involved side, tighter and larger proximal contacts can be created. The teeth do not have to be forcefully separated with wedges, as the matrix material is very thin. 
 
 
Selective positioning of contacts
Contacts can be selectively positioned in the upper third of the proximal surface. Consequently, the entire restoration is located much nearer to the original natural position. 
 
 
Easy application with Tofflemire matrix retainers
The innovative OptraMatrix is very easy to use, as it can be applied with conventional Tofflemire matrix retainers.

OptraMatrix helps to achieve predictable results and simplifies the creation of tight and large proximal contacts in the correct position.
 
OptraMatrix is an innovative matrix band, which is used with proven Tofflemire matrix retainers. OptraMatrix features a selectively thinned area where the contact is located to ensure adequate stability. As a result of this selectively thinned area, only a very thin layer of foil is placed between the teeth during the filling procedure. Consequently, the proximal contacts created are much tighter. OptraMatrix is available in six different versions with a mesial (mo fillings), a distal (do fillings) and a three-surface variant (mod fillings) for both molars and premolars. In addition to the selectively thinned part, the mesial and distal versions also feature an opening for the intact contact of the non-involved side of the cavity. This hole ensures that the natural contact remains intact when a two-surface posterior filling is placed. Therefore, counterproductive micro-movements of the tooth to be treated are completely eliminated. Furthermore, as the matrix material is very thin, the teeth no longer have to be forcefully separated with wedges.
